I figured you would keep your bike in better shape, not gonna do you any good coming off the line and your chain starts slipping!!!!!!!!! Put your hand out, "Smack", now get out there and give your Bike some TLC!!!!!!!!!! Spent some time doing the same on the SXR yesterday, felt good to get out there and just work on it some.

Nice Trophy Wall.

yeah, that was quicksilver back in the day.

I'm betting that chain was stretched beyond it's lifspan too, and I can almost guarantee the spocket bolts werent properly torqued.

Edwin needs to worry less about posing for pictures and talking smack than he does about doing proper mantenance. :twak:

many yami '06 owners have reported problems with hubs getting trashed sending the chain flying and taking out their cases. this is what happened to me too. so many '06's yz450f's have had this issue, that many have questioned if it wasn't a problem with a production run on hubs. i bought an '08 yz250f rear wheel after it happened to me. luckily i have a friend who welds and he welded my cases (and did a dam good job) for a 12pack of bud heavy.

Here's just one thread on TT about the yami rear hubs, if youre motivated, i'm sure you can find many more:

here's what happened to my beast... before

..after..

but, whatever, couldve been loose bolts, couldve been a crappy hub, couldve been zeus or allah, we'll never really know will we.

four strokes are easier everywhere, they hookup 10 times better and there is torque everywhere........i would rather do any type of hillclimb on a four stroke. i honestly cannot thing of one situation where i would want a two stroke anymore. and you guys cant use "ohh they dont start" my 250f starts like a 2 stroke, in never touch the hot start or anything.

as i said, it's preference. I had a thumper, and switched to a pinger. Best move I made. it fits my riding style better and I'm 10x faster on it. and that is not an exageration. ask anyone that rides with me on a regular basis what the 2t did for me. but like I said, it's preference.

for real.

i went down on the track twice last weekend and was thinking about the whole starting issue to myself as i picked my bike up, pulled the hot start, and started it in 1 kick each time. seems like most of the 4 stroke arguments the 2stroke guys use applied maybe from 1999 thru 2004'ish, but not anymore... even weight is a non-issue.. heck, the ktm 450's are e-start now!!!
