My wife's leaving me for a month.:puppy_dog_eyes:

U guys that go skiing alone: how do you do it? Do you tie your ski up to the dock, go park in your favorite camping spot and then take the LONG walk back to the dock?

I wished people that lived here ski. Noone lives in southern NM.:sad2:

I just leave my truck at the launch. Most of the time this time of year there is hardly anyone else out on the water so I can leave the truck right next to the water.
I also ride upstream so if I have any issues I can drift back to the launch.

When I had brand-new couches, I would tie it to the dock (end of the dock), and go park.

With standups, just drag er up on shore, go park.

What's the big deal? :dunno:

The long walk from camp.

Something tells me you guys don't make camping part of your skiing.

It's 1 hour each way to the lake. That's too long of a drive to be going back and forth each day, so I camp and make a weekend out of it.

Every state park in Ohio I have been to has a parking area
right next to the boat ramp, so I have been fortunate to not
have this problem. I ride alone most of the time.

set up camp, go launch, and live at camp from your ski for the weekend?

I guess if you camp in your truck or suv, or need to drive during the weekend thats problematic

take a scooter, moped or 10 speed on the trailer, and leave it at camp before launch?
pedal or motor back to ramp and get your vehicle?

get a beach cart and launch at your campsite thru grass?

I think you're right. It's goinna be a bitch to push/pull the stand-up from the trailer to the tote.

That didn't work out well for me several years ago. Not reccommended:biggrin:

Yep, I transfer skis from totes to trailers & vice versa all the time. The tote should be about the same height as the trailer anyway. Just scotch the tote wheels when transferring from the trailer and you should be fine.

I slide my junk off onto the ground, and get it back on the trailer pretty frequently too.
its a bear having 3 skis, and a 2 place trailer.

I stick wifes FX1 into the back of my 4runner and slide it out alone too.

and im NOT particularly a large or strong guy.

Im thinking if you are too lazy to move the ski, you might should sit at camp and fly your RC car or knit or something.

hehe

An hour drive doesn't seem terrible. The lakes I go to are all between 40 minutes to an hour and a half one way. I do that at least once a week for half the year. How far does everyone else drive?
