Sar, and Luis,

It hits pretty dang good for what it is.
engine has 150 psi in one hole, and 185 in the other. but way stronger than a stock 650.

Ive never messed with the jetting or pipe on this boat, it was set up in the early-mid 90s as a race boat, I bought it, stuck in the MSD enhancer, removed the stickers, and have been riding it for a few years just like it is.

That Protec pipe is sort of a pain to remove, Id rather run a B pipe or coffman sizzler I think.

how does that ski hit? with the mods you have right now?

rebuilt

Just out of curiousity..why a ported 650 on a 61x case and not go bigger all the way ?

Thank you for advice.

Btw I have run both pipes coffmans & pro-tec on my 650's and I had the feeling the coffmans is better ( just my personal opinion ).

Orangefinger,

Ive got several 650 matched cylinder/piston sets, a couple of which ive already done most of the port work on, they are basically opened up to 701 width, with the shape of a sport port template.

basically, CHEAP engine build.

Ive got 61x and 62t cylinders too, but those are going in MY boat, I weigh 100 lbs more than him, I figure I need the stronger engine.

Interesting note on the pipes, I would have said that the protec has better bottom end, slightly than the coffmans, but is MUCH more of a pain to install and work around later. ( the difference ive felt could be in the engines or jetting as well, ive ridden them back to back, but on different 650 engines)

we had a couple of hours today, he removed all the engine mounts, rideplate, pump, and I did the throttle/steering cables.

he started on the turf removal too, he commented on how tough it was, I said " just wait until we put that crap back on!

here are nearly stripped hull pics, and a pooch pic tossed in for Odd Duck.

He is about to turn 11 ( in December)

Ive told him, I will spoil him, as long as he makes straight A's.

bad grades, or trouble at school = toys going away.

Im lucky, because he REALLY likes his toys.

:Banane19:

I have done that with my daughters, they are 18 and 17 now and got four wheelers for Christmas when they were 10 and 11. Now the 18 is a senior doing due enrollment, she will graduate highschool with a AA degree. The other is a junior trying to graduate this year.

He has to be 12 years old, and then pass the boaters saftey test, so it will be season AFTER next legally.

My wife told him " you can ride some next summer, on the days when it isnt busy, and no rangers are around.."

he replied " No, mom, I think I will just wait, I dont want to mess up my chances of getting my boaters permit at 12!"

haha

so, that means ive got a while to build his boat up.

maybe, but he wants them further forward, and it is HIS boat, so, Ill do what he wants in the end.

he doesnt like my black boat at all, foot holds far back and SHORT pole, he can ride it, but isnt comfortable on it.

so I want to make this one where he is comfortable, and at ease.

that way, he will ride more, and I can concentrate on working on my black boat.

haha
