im thinking about taking the gas cap out of the front and relockating it to inside the ski on the tank! why is the aftermarket nose pice so expencive

its a stock 650

I have ran that same size engine for a few years, ad a decent pipe and head, and advance the stator timing, and lighten flywheel, and it will be lots of fun.

you need to raise your RPM limit somehow too, either mod the sock box, or buy a modded one or an msd enhancer.

even a stock 701 box woudl be better than a stock 650 cdi

650 limit is 6500 rpm.

with a head and pipe your engine would likely pull to 7000 or more RPM

thats almost identical to my sons boats set up ( that was my boat) and a few folks have ridden it and were impressed with the power output it had.

ad a bored nozzle, and a 12/15 solas concord and you will be rockin.

I never knew this, so dumb question, would a modded 650 CDI be as good as a modded 701 CDI? And would the mod procedure be exactly the same on both?

I am even more of a total nube when it comes to 650s, than I am with 701s :banghead:

I think the 701 cdi rev limit is around 7200 rpm or so, 650 stock is around 6500

I believe the mod is the same

I would think a modded 650 would be the same as a modded 701 cdi, basically.

Thanks, and thanks for the help on the flywheel cover last night. Got them off the RN and the SN, now just gotta pick up a puller for the flywheels themselves.

you will need hardedned ( grade 5 or 8) washers, and the 3 properly sized bolts to go ingo he flywheel cover ( most comes with them)

Get it primed, and ill do your footholds are buildfest, then paint it after. or we can tape off the back end of the ski.
