Quad / Bike suggestions?

what year? personally, i wouldnt touch anything under '03/04.... bikes aren't like skis.. they change alot and you always you want to be on the best equipment possible in the best condition possible.

you never want to ride around on something "clapped out".. its dangerous... that works all day with skis (duct tape & hose clamps all day!), but, not with bikes.

Damn,
Its older 92 I believe, sucks but the price is soo right. (I am BROKE right now and just want something to ride) This is only for trail riding, I'm not going to be jumping on tracks....lol And I really dont care if its slow. With that said, should I still steer away?

Just save up 2k and get something nice 03 or newer.... You buy a 92 and it blows up.... it happened to throw a rod.... now you still have a Very old bike, that is way behind in tecnology, and isnt worth crap.... and you start over.

It would be kinda like starting with a kaw 440 or 550 standup... waste of $$

quads are gay. like saki said get an old 2 stroke 250 bike. they are reliable, dont require much maintence and are a total blast to ride with whatever you wanna do.

125 are not good starter bikes

but id love a 04-05 yz125 with a 180 kit an maybe a slightly heavier flywheel..............

Edwin is a dork .... nothing wrong with a Steel frame. McGrath left Honda because they wouldnt let him ride a 96yr steel frame For the 97 AMA series when the 97 Alloy frame came out. The first years of the aluminum frame were horrible.... It was so stiff, you could feel everything! The frame didnt soak any energy.

:haha:

yeah, thats why all the new bikes have 'em...

let me guess, 2strokes are better than 4's too.. hahahaha

stick to jet skis son

Not everyone can afford a 07 Edwin... all the new bikes are aluminum because after millions of dollars they finaly figured it out. :eek2:

Why did they go to Aluminum? To save about 4lbs.... but weight doesnt matter... so why did they go through all that trouble. :moon:

suspension is really also the biggest thing... any 97 suspension/handling is TRASH compared to any '04 suspension/handling

motors are motors and can be modded/rebuilt easy/cheap.. suspension is a whole diff story..

also, you want something with an aluminum frame.. don't buy any bike with round steel frame, you'll never be able to get rid of it/sell it..

you havent riden a KTM in the woods I take it. there is a reason that all of the offroad events look like pumpkin patches.

I had a 4t. I switched to a 2t for woods riding. I cant say with any certainty that the bike is faster in the woods, but I know for sure I am ALOT faster on it.

one of the guys i ride with all the time has a ktm.. i don't speak about them cause i dont know much about them.. except they are all missing an important rear linkage. :Banane26:

linkages are over rated. if they were THAt benifical KTM would have added them or nobody wold ride them. I know that on the MX track the hitler cycles dont do all that well. but in the wood they ARE the final word.

Just get yourself a pitbike.
Fun, cheap, and you can store the thing in your living room.
Honda crf50 or better yet the kawi KLX110. you being a kawi guy.
Should be able to get something nice for under $1000. I just saw 05 klx with bars & tires go for $700 here in NJ
oh and they're way more fun than quads
