Which superjet should I buy?

I face a dilemma now. After months of searching for a local superjet, I have found two of them..here is an overview of them.

First one is a 94 with factopy pipe, waterbox, intake grate, and ride plate. Runs great and guy has title in hand. 1500 obo.

Second one is a 01 that is stock. Has a few chips on the outside but overall I would rate it around a 6 or 7/10. The impeller has some nice knicks and the original matts have seen better days. He was asking 3500 obo, but I can get it for around 2500.

Right now I am kinda aiming towards the SN, since its cheaper and has the mods already done to it that I have planned on doing. The absolute only thing I like about the RN over the SN is the looks. If you were in my shoes and this being your first standup, which would you go for? Would you dish out the extra money just to have a newer one, or save money and get a slightly older one with more mods?

To me this one is easy.

I would get the SN and ride the hell out of it.
The extra cash would go towards further mods.

But to some the RN does look better, I guess.

there are some nice RN in the FS forum for not much more money that the guy with the beat up RN. And they even have some mods.

i wouldnt get the rn and the sn seems to be a good deal. And later on you could upgrade to a 701 thats what i might do instead of getting a rn right away

Get the square and use the saved money to do some fiberglass work on her this winter. If you tap your resources then even buying shoes and gloves seems tight.

And since your in Perryville are you planning on riding at rend lake with the StLouis crew this month? It is in the events section. Also do you have any others to ride with. We are only about 1.5 hours apart we need to hook up.... Well when I get a ski... LOL

Hmm...that is definately a huge possibility on the Rend Lake ride...especially If I have a SJ for the event. I have one other guy that I ride with and we hit up a couple local rivers along with Kinkaid lake very often(usually every weekend during summer). Definately need to hook up and ride some..I have a couple Waveblaster I's if you are looking for somethin like that to buy.

If you have the money get a roundnose. Everyone that I know with a square wants a roundnose but don't have the money. Save some money by skipping the squarenose step b/c it would be a matter of time before you would want a roundnose.

I might have to pick up a blaster from you when my seadoo sells. I have a ski it is just my motor is in another world... Long story. I want to ride a blaster so you should bring one to the rend ride. And you need to come ride superjet or not. I will be sporting one of the couches or maybe that super fast paddle boat I was in last time... LOL :icon16:

Not a problem. Im not looking to sell the Blasters anytime soon I will most likely still have them(they are for sale, but im not in a hurry to sell them). I could always bring the SPX if I dont get the RN tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Im still pretty torn though. I personally like the looks of a RN. I have seen the 01 in person, but have yet to get ahold of the guy with the 94(besides through one email..got his phone number but he isnt answering)..My main concern is if the 01 is worth 2500 stock??

Get a squarenose and be done with it(as long as it has a 701 and a pipe, it will rip). They ride almost the same except the pole bracket on the square makes it handle a bit differently since its lowered.

it doesn't matter if its a square or a roundnose, they will function the same for any freestyle trick or recreational riding.
