jetski solutions carb work

sending my carbs to JSS to have the tamper caps removed and the mixture knobs put on, just wondering if anyone has had the bore obsruction removal done and if it is a noticeble gain worth the extra $100.

Thanks

I would pass on that mod, it's been 'sketchy' for freestyle purposes. If you want an increase save up for dual 44's.

Mmmmhhh mmmhhh mhhh, fresh can'o'worms!

I would not spend 100 to improve SBN38's. That money is better spent towards 44's.
While John's electrical work is second to none, a small number of people have nothing but bad things to say about his carb work, based on events approx. 3 years or so in the past.

ya i was thinkin no on the extra $100 for that and put towards somthing else, but im definately sending him the carbs to do the tamper cap removal. I removed one of the caps on my own, it wasnt very difficult but there is no way to adjust them while in the boat. so im going to send them out today.

I was going to have the tamper cap serice done on my 05, but after more than enough bad reviews, I passed.

I removed the tamper caps myself, set the screws where I wanted them, and ran them fine all last season. I ended up having JSS put knobs on just in case I wanted to tune in the water and have yet to adjust them. They'd come in handy if you played with tuning a lot though. They are very tight and don't back out at all unlike what some other riders have experienced years ago.

The only thing bad ive heard, is that they ar end heavy, and fall out.

What I did, is just remove the caps, I happen to have a buddy with the same exact set up, set the screws/rejetted, and brapppp. No adjusters.

I believe he's changed the adjusters to where they do not fall out anymore (not sure though). See Beachjunkey's post.

No he will not!
I have nothing good to say about his carb services! If you can get the caps out yourself, why pay him to do it for you? I believe you can get new mixture screws from a dealer to replace the short ones in your carbs??? Can anyone confirm this?

I wouldn't let JSS even look at my carbs, much less TOUCH them :bs2: But I have Full Spectrums now, so my problems are a thing of the past

Noone makes mixture screws yet. But it must only be a matter of time, once those come out, ill install them...

Correct me if I'm wrong (it was a while back), but wasn't it yours had all the trash that came out if it when it was sent back?

Are they different from what came in earlier models? I have never worked on any with the tamper caps, but it seems that you could just get a normal set of mixture screws and replace them.

Not a big fan of the carb services. Best bet is to buy some 44's, 48's ect.......that will give you a performance boost. JSS mods are good for show but not for go. The epoxy coating is nice and he will shim the carb butterflies properly but I don't really care to spend that $$. I had an issue with my 44's when I sent them, thats why my boat would not fire at Lanier. I am becomming less and less trusting on having people work on my stuff.........unless it's LPW or Protec.

Johns electrical work is top notch though.

yeah............. If I am not mistaken, it was the fuel pumps that had the trash in them, which had been swapped out prior to shipping..... (that can be read in the "Take the money and run" thread......... Jeremy had to borrow a set of carbs so he would not have down time, getting ready for Nationals..........

Freestylegeek could not get them to run.
Abe SJ13 (Northgraphics) could not get them to run.
Dan Stein (With Paul Lehr tuning) could not get them to run.......
I offered to help John by installing a set............. he did not have time.... even though I told him I would do all the install and tuning to see if there was a correlation between the carb mods and using a B Pipe.......... seems most people that have had them work well were running Dry Pipes.........

aside from that, JSS has some really good and innovative ideas.......... Electrical work, I would not hesitate to use them...........
