Well, if you take a high port cylinder and add a dry pipe the power comes all or nothing. Thats why everyone toggles the throttle a lot at slow speeds. A wet pipe on a stock cylinder isnt too bad.

Did you have any problem with your motor mounts in your conversion kit? I bought the RHAAS 701 conversion kit and the motor mounts are off center to center on the 701 bed plate bolts by a 1/4 to 3/8 center to center…

The exhaust side was 10 1/2 bolt to bolt and carb side is 10 1/4 bolt to bolt…

Neither black market or RHAAS 750 pump conversions say to use a 750/800 coupler on the driveshaft. Maybe its common sense and I’m just stupid! Notice how far the motor mounts are off in the second pic! With the 750 coupler its waaaay better but still not right! Ive emailed RHAAS twice with no response. Maybe there on vacation this week. Anyone have a phone number for them? I could elongate the bolt holes in the motor mounts but really hate to if for some reason i was sent the wrong mounts! Don’t want to butcher such a beautiful piece of work…..

First pic is with the 750 coupler on the X2 driveshaft.

Second pic is with a 550 coupler on the X2 driveshaft. Notice how far forward the 550 coupler pushes the motor forward. I don’t know why that if a 750/800 coupler isn’t listed on either the RHAAS or black market conversions as needed items not supplied! Like i said, maybe I’m just stupid and missing something!

I may be completely off - but I thought there was mention of needing a "shaved" down coupler/X2driveshaft from RHAAS to be able to use the pump conversion kit? This is completely off the top of my head though.

I spoke with Robin. I didn’t specify when i ordered the kit i was also doing a 750 pump conversion. If i had he would had sent me a milled down engine coupler to allow the motor to slide further back. SUPER nice guy! He put the correct one in the mail within a hour I had a tracking number free of charge even though it was my bad. Will definitely do business with him again! Thanks for all the brainstorming responses! Should have it Tuesday. Too bad I’m in Conn and the ski is in Vermont!

While project Yamasaki was patiently waiting for conversion parts, someone turned the thermostat up to 118 here in Idaho so I decided we needed to float now. Thought this ski came with a 550 pp, turns out it’s a 440.. perfect I love those little buggers. Even if it is a cruise ship bilge pump motor.

To make my RRP pole with Yamaha Superjet throttle cable and Yamaha start stop switch from a couch work I built a carb bracket from a motor mount shim. I then spliced the start stop switch in for some heavy YAMASAKI.

I learned the other day you need a steering cable extension to make an rrp pole work with a 550 cable.
But if you flip your pre 08 Superjet cable around backward the long pump part actually needs a bracket to mount it further down the pole to make it work. I hacked something together and she now turns bump to bump or almost.. would not say this is my final plan but it will get Yamasaki and I wet.

I’ll take some pics on the lake today

Did you end up running the stock 61X breadbox pipe? I used a stock kawi 650sx pipe and it fits well but not supported that well. Ran the ski this weekend. Have a wicked vibration just off throttle! I think it might be the pipe hitting the side if the hull. I have to get it in the shop and check it out. If it is ill put the stock 701 exhaust on and see what happens. I’m hoping I didn’t mess up the crank trying to get the stock flywheel off to put on the new Jetnetics flywheel..

I am still waiting for parts from rhaas............................

Ultimately I will be running a 62t breadbox, not sure if that is different than a 61x or 650 variant.

I honestly really don’t know what the hold up is. I got an email with a tracking number for usps. The email says half of my parts shipped. USPS says the tag was made on 7/2 and they don’t have a package..
I know he’s probably super busy so I’m trying not to bug him but I’m getting a bit antsy.

Putting it the lake this afternoon! Don’t know yet. Fingers crossed!

I’m a tobacco farmer and this is crunch time on the farm right before harvest. With this COVID chit nobody wants to work. Guess there all getting paid to stay home???? :(

If my workers would show up half the time i would have time to ride but that’s not happening! I’m sneaking away to Vermont today for the night to ride. Got to get out of this place and RESET!

On a different note:……

Those of you that have built a Yamasaki, how do you get the coupler cover on? It looks like i have to take the tank out and pull the motor forward to get it under the Yamaha Ebox. Last thing i want to do after getting it aligned!

Maybe i can just take the Ebox out and put it in? I’m leaving it off for this trip! When i get home I’ll address the situation! What are your thoughts?
