Super Jet Good idea to try first backflip off boat wake?

I've read all the how toos and I think I've siked my self up enuf to commit I'm just wondering on a stock motored sj if it's a good idea? Other than squating then extending and pulling back any pointers? I'll try and get some vids today so you can tell me what I need to do.

Well I tried... Made it a little over half way bout 5-6 times, it was interesting. Def gota work on the timing and stuff. Good news was I came over straight. My feet slipped out of the holds one time and they were ripped out the few times I landed head first so may need to work on that some.

The skis not totally stock, I have a 12/17 swirl, bored nozzle and milled fw on a 62t/62t. I guess basically stock lol.

You can get half way with a stock SJ on a setup wake. That is easy. The hard part which is about 80% of the flip is the other 50% rotation. You have to have the height to get around and the rotational speed to make it around.

So what it saying is I suck lol. Well next year I'll have morehp. Nose stabs or barel rolls doable with my setup?

Thanks for the info guys I apreciate it!

How much did it hurt? My problem is growing the balls to try a flip, I have a trinity Matrix with ss865 so I should be able to off a boat wave, and I can definitely get the height to do it, I just don't have the balls yet to try it, haha.

If you're worried about pain, you're not ready.

Doesn't really hurt unless you screw it up royally.

Take the first step and do powerslides, spin out backwards hit throttle and practice flops and controlling the ski on top of you while firmly planted....then after that becomes easy hit boat wake and work up to it, maybe add trim so you don't go as high up and rotate faster...also suggest running couch mounts for this because they are larger diameter and hold up better.

I like this advise. Going to the lake for the rest of the week and I will have to try and work my way up to boat wakes.

I say.... Forget the trim. If your getting it over half way around and you just started trying. Keep trying. I always enjoy hearing about people flipping SJ's. I'd rather see someone flip i mildly modded sj on a v wake than see someone rippin around on a 3ft boat with trim and a 200+ hp motor flipping on glass. More power to ya dude. Keep at it. Have fun and poat up some pictures

The difficulty level is about the same

Well it didn't really hurt at all, even when I was past half way and the ski came down directly over me it didn't hurt. Just go for it! I think if I had thrown myself harder I could have maybe stabbed the nose in, the wake I was hitting was a good 1.5-2 ft. Tried a few nose stabs that ended badly haha.
