And check water depth. A friend of mine snaped his pole in half with his face in shallow water. Good news is it gave him an excuse to get that new aluminum pole.

I was working on subs the other day and realized I was pulling the front end up as I hopped. I was attempting to get the ski up into the air, but this was lifting the front too much and prevented me from getting the backend up and nose down. I stopped trying to raise the front end, focusing on pulling the tray up with a crouching position and it immediately worked much better! I am not doing a great job yet but hope to get back out soon!

I was working on them today. My best ones are doing it going into a little wave heading the same direction I am. I have to really crouch and pin it to pull out. Its pretty fun when you really sink the ski under all noise goes away, almost wants to hold it self down there.

I have been trying it with mine by turning in tight circles and then diving the nose into my own wake, still have not perfected it though.

Biggest mistake I used to make was trying to bunny hop the ski. All it takes is the ski on a plane, a slight throttle pop and crouch while pushing forward on the handle pole. It'll dive in hard that way. Then give it a little gas to go further in. I've had trouble lately with nose diving too hard and rolling the ski over on its nose.

I've been wanting to try doing a sub, but I get an anxiety that when I go to dive in, it'll be like hitting a brick wall and toss me.... Even though I'm wearing a helmet. How hard does it jolt you when you correctly sub?

It is not bad at all, i dont wear a helmet and have never had a problem and i've done some huge subs.

I wouls still wear a helmet. when doing these for the first time you may go in to shallow sending a wall of water up the nose and hood straight to your face. OR you can go to deep and go over the bars have your eyelids peel open lol...
