i do find it interesting that its not finacially feasible to manufacture the hull in north america yet anyone who buys a rickter is expected to pay the shipping from thailand, so the additional costs are with the customer and are not with rickter

and they are doing mass production so should be seeing economies of scale, does seem like this is passed along

so this means the margin in the manufacturing is kept and the higher shipping costs are not taken into account

i have no issue with the list price of the rickter hulls but i find the additional shipping to be a big turn off from the product

seems there are a number of other hulls built in North America that are competitive with a rickters price level

although from the rickters ive seen they do appear to have one of the best fit and finishes of the hulls available

Rickter hulls are available in usa with no additional shipping except from the warehouse to your location so the cost is $6500
the problem is we can only produce so many hulls at a time to not slow down special orders at this point as well.
Also i am pretty sure car manufactures and lots of other large toys out there charge destination fees and assembly and many other charges as well in similar industries

good to know

are they available direct from rickter in Canada?

the bullet hull already exist for racing .
also just like freestyle for a sport to evolve things will need to change . also it used to be 200 units to be legal i think we have sold a few more than this as a manufacturer

Really don't see why you (RRP) can't make them in North America. I do my best to buy American even though it seems to be out of style. Last 3 boats- Bullet, BOB, now a Trinity. Bullet-lower price and great fit and finish. BOB does what it is supposed to do. Trinity great fit and finish and on price point with RRP. Just my opinion that I considered a RRP but the Thai thing is a big deterrent to me. Alot of riders don't care thats why the RRP sells, great boat from what I hear, but make one here and I will buy.

I think you have relize RRP is not an american company as well . Also the market for this ski is not just america . We sell more units outside the usa than inside so the same argument has been heard several times from other countries as well . While i am american and manage rrp from usa rickter is not itself a american company and actually Ricks partner is thai . So there are more reasons other than just cost . At this moment there is not one jet ski manufacturer that is american . So if you want to ride a jetski it will be made overseas with the exception of the late sxr i believe was assembled in usa . We wish we could make everybody happy but we cant so we just try to put the best product out there and that i feel we acheive .

yami kawi and........RRP.............if they consider himself as a manufacturer why not all the other a/m company....anyways...

I would consider RRP a Manufacturer. They have purchased a building and are using assembly line production methods. Most of the other builders here make them one at a time (Maybe two or three at most).

imo which doesn't mean much, rrp is the only manufacturer out there right now, the rest are pretty much made to order and specialize in one or 2 products.
and the term manufacturing really refers more to the process not the product

damn bk beat me to it ;)

Line production ???? In my mind line production its like GM or Ford or what ever the brand, they make more than 25 hull(car) a month.
