I'm begining to gather parts for a : Yamaha 760 62T twin carb Engine Build. I have 62t cases ,a 62T cylinder...I have a complete intake ,with carbs,from a Yamaha 1100 . I've been searching to see if the Reeds and cages for the 1100 are the same as the 760 ,or if I ,can or cant use the carbs ,or reeds for my 760 build . I have 1100 carbs and reeds ,I'm trying to use them on a 760 build ..Pro-tec says this for the Reeds:
Carbon Tech carbon fiber reed set. This set of reeds was specifically made for Pro-Tec by Carbon Tech to be used in the Yamaha 701 (62T) twin carb engines and 760 engines with Yamaha 1200 (65U) reed valves. This item is designed to improve performance.
So there saying ,these reeds can be used ,if your running 1200 reed valve assy in 760? from 1200 65u engine ? I was Actually looking to use my 1100 reed valve assy ,but this saying I can use 1200 reed valve assy in a 760?doesnt mention 1100. Has anyone used different reed valve assy in 760?
