Yamah SN - Shocking but No spark.

Hello all,
I am having slight issues with my yamaha 650.
I am TERRIBLE with the electronics portion of work .... atleast so far.

When I turn the engine over (holding one of the spark plugs) I shock the hell out of myself BUT, when I try to ground the plug to a head bolt I see no spark. Same scenario for both wires.

Can someone help me out with how to fix this issue?

wires or boots are broken
lets the spark out to your hand but not conveying spark to the plug?

I can hold the PLUG itself and get zapped, but when I try to ground to a head bolt I get no spark. I checked the ground between the battery and the bolt I was using and it was good.

the coils dont go bad to often, buf it your coil is bad it will do exactly wat yours saying. put out enough so you can feel it.. but not enough to arc.

if you have a shock at the plug wire but not the plug....

you have a LACK of connection at the plug boot.

what are you touching when the plug shocks you and not the engine?

simply ground THAT thing to the engine.

so If I hold onto the plug for several pulses do I get cool points or does that just mean my coil is probably bad?

it depends on the quality and length of the video, multiplied by the amount and/or duration of the girly screams that you emit.

try holding the plug in your mouth with your teeth and see if it arcs from top to bottom teeth. get a friend to press the start button, he will enjoy helping.
