650/X-2 X2 Problems

I recently put an X2 together and took it out for the first time and had a powere problem. It started up fine and went great out of the hole for the first 3-4 seconds.... after that i slowly lost power.... it slowly lost rpms and you couldnt give it more then 3/4 throttle... about minute later you couldnt give it more then 1/2 throttle and then another minute later youcoudnt give it more then 1/4 throttle before you were eventually feathering the throttle..... if you gave it more throttle it would die out....

The motor had top end gaskets put on last week with RTV copper seal (spray can)... its stock other then a 44 mikuni, boysen reeds, and jetsport intake... I tryed playing with the carb a little bit but that didnt help... i also checked the plugs and they look good (light brown)... im thinking it possibly might have an air leak when it gets warm... any ideas?

*** Note the motor isnt over heating... its never to hot to touch nor does it sizzle water...

Carb is too rich. Has an exhaust leak. Has a hose leaking water to the motor.

Does it keep doing this problem? If not, what fixes it? (That is to say, did it never get power back? or did it get power back and then the power died off again? What do you do b/t the time of no power and when the cycle starts over with a decrease of power)

An air leak would probably make it run lean, which means it would probably be running hot, which it is not.

I played with the high and low on the carb but the problem continued..... If you let it sit for about 3-4 minutes then it would be fine and again slowly loose power.... I was also thinking it was an exhaust leak but i never noticed any smoke in the engine compartment after i ran it... i also started it up with the hood up but didnt notice any leaks... i havent checked the jets in the carb yet to see what they are.... could be running to rich but itll run for about five minutes before you wont get any throttle

I only know of the tank vent on the fuel pick up and its clear and open... I was also wondering if the stock exhaust is to restrictive for the 44 mm carb

Ok so i check the compression and its 140 in both cylinders

I also pulled the carb off and it has a 145 and 120 jet..... what do you guys suggest running?

There seems to be a lot of mysterious little problems with the 650's. Mine has a similar problem where it will run ok sometimes and Terrible others. Your jets are the right size though
