get out and ride
So now that your back flip hull is for sale as a complete ski, what is this monster engine going into? And if your current setup is truly 260lbs rtr with a FULL tank of gas and what looks like a full size batter, McDogs 850 setup should have no problem flipping that hull.

im thinking of doing two things, sell my complete ski and build a full new one or put a new engine in mine

my x scream 865 (actually 846, one bore left) with the powerfactor dry pipe and msd total loss with a STOCK pump (tried a couple different props) spun the prop everywhere!

it was ride-able and fun, but would have been much better and predictable with a mag pump, or a stock pump setup a bit nicer (tbm insert perhaps, different prop even?). but my thought was why put money into a stock pump when i was going to buy a mag eventually.

my x scream 1000 on a stock pump - forgot it. you wouldn't go anywhere. you need to do it all at once or don't do it at all.

I tried the same thing for one ride on my 865(827). It blew away a 12/17 big hub prop with a TBM cone behind it. Granted the prop was a bit worn out, but still....

I ordered a mag after that first ride. It's no fun if you can't get the power to the water.

Just saying.....for a reinforced glass hull, that can't be right.

And if it is right, and you can't flip a 260RTR BACKFLIP ski with the motor you got - then a bigger motor would probably do it! (But so will much cheaper practice)

it was weighed on a bathroom scale

I don't want to rag on you or your ski and infact I like your hull a lot and was seriously interested in it last time you had it posted as a Hull only but I couldn't get an honest answer to hull weight then either. I would suggest putting the ski on a calibrated scale and getting an honest dry weight on it. If someone buys this and it show up on the door step 30lbs heavier than advetised they will not be happy. Trust me, I've been there...

Good luck with whatever your next motor/build will be. Hopefully we can swap rides for a bit at next years Sortie!

Fair nuff.

So I got a question: What have you done so far to try and flatwater flip?
Have you worked on your setup wakes?
Have you tried flipping?
If nothing else, you should be able to at least get past upside down and actually have the nose of the ski hit the water first.
I was able to do that without any practice, no trim, and a much heavier hull.

bro, I rode Mcdog 850cc all I can say was holly shiot, hits harder that I bunch of 900cc+stroker in the block,

all I can say It will be wayy to much and serious money to get it running, when its all set and done you are looking at at least 7k in parts just to make your engine run, and that thing will hurt you.

I sold my orange ski to good guy in New Zealand, with a XS ss 827 stock electrics, stock pump, less that 2 months ago, and now he plate to plate flips now, BTW that was hes first ski.

if I was in your shoes, if you have foam that tray, take it out, because is prob has water, and go practice, when you feel that you are tired, and not getting any wear, go back and ride another hour and that should help you, and

and backflips is not everything
thats my 0.2

Finally Flippin
You guys should really lay off Nolan, from my time with him he is a great kid and works hard for everything he has. He's not a kid with a golden spoon in his mouth..

I took out a load when I was 16 to buy my first ski, and have had credit cards etc since then. Its a great way to get an amazing credit score at a very young age. Instead of assuming he is a just another "kids these days" kid, why can't we assume he is responsible?

His ski is perfectly capable of flipping, he just needs a bigger motor. I've seen him try a few flatwater backies and I bet with a little bit more power and some tweaking of his technique he'd have it down.

thank you trev!!! that was one of my reasons for taking a loan out was to build a good credit at a young age so in the future i dont have to worry about it. but i do see what everyone is saying about not needing a huge engine
