Ok i just got this westcoast head it was thrown into a deal with some other stuff i bought.

Question 1: The head itself looks like it says EP7500 hard to tell it is pretty much worn off. The domes say EP7529. Does this mean there 29cc domes? if so what fuel should i run?

Question 2: the head has 4 threaded cooling hook ups where my stock one has two and only one is in use. How can i make it work? can i just cap them off or do i have to run dual cooling? if so i have no idea how to route those lines. When i get to my personal computer i can post a pic of my current hose routing if needed

Question 3: will i need to make any jetting changes to compinsate for the high compression?

Thanks...

They are 29cc domes but Westcoast in their infinite wisdom included the spark plug threads in their dome sizing so in actuality compared to other mfgs domes they will be much smaller, cap off the hose barbs that you don't want to use,you will probably have to richen up the jetting slightly.Fuel will depend on your compression, check that with a gauge then you can make a fuel requirement assumption.

You answered every question! thanks

does anyone know what compression requires what fuel?

or has anyone ran 29cc domes and know what fuel i can run. I dont want to buy a new head gasket and put the head on to find out i need race fuel. i want to stay on pump gas.

I'm guessing you'll be running around 170-180psi which will be fine to run on pump gas. My head produces 195psi and the volume above the piston is a total of 29cc and that's with a 0.050" squish which brings my head to roughly 23cc domes. Obviously that's just a guesstimate on compression but you'll definately be fine running pump gas.

yes on the oring, if you don't have the westcoast head gasket you can use 1 from the sxr. i'm running the same at 185/per and pump gas

Just use the had gasket from the SXR or the Oring?

Someone told me to use a 750 gasket and dremmel out the middle ring. So do i use the Oring from a SXR with a 750 head gasket??

Thanks

Cooling

Ok i got the westcoast orings and gasket:

Question it was stated i could cap off the cooling ports i dont need but here is my set up now: Can i take the T lines from the water box and put them both to the top of the head and the run one from side of head to top of head pipe??

First pic is how the lines are now:
Second pic is how i want to put them if possible

I am also doing this to my 750 soon. Can someone clarify exactly how the cooling lines are routed for the west coast head. My motor is a 1993 750 ssxi with a stock 650 exhaust manifold and stock 650 exhaust.
Pictures always help!

PS - Watcon.com has a westcoast head gasket for around $30

If your running stock, single in cooling, you run a single out, from head to head pipe, just like stock. Make sure to use an out fitting in similar location as original, to get proper water flow across the head. Use pipe plugs on any extra cooling ports.

If you have dual cooling coming in, you can then add an extra out fitting on the head, to a water by pass.
