warm up, then engine runs bad

My friends SJ is doing this now. I was thinking (another) MSD enhancer is shot. It runs killer for 30-40 seconds and then starts running like crap.

Stator huh? Never had one go bad. But I have had MSD's go and that is exactly what they did. Got warm and ran like crap.

Don't tell me those enhancers go bad, another variable I don't need. No like I said earlier, I've heard the stators on the 750's are a weak component, Yamaha?

Just curious, what part of the stator went bad; was it the pulser coil, charging coil or lightning coil?

Today was the first day I rode it, and didn't have any mechanical issues.
