Am I the only one that thinks this virus nonsense is getting out of hand? We are just over here waiting for summer. . .

This is probably only the beginning. The economic impact will be the worst, along with many unnecessary deaths. The United States is woefully unprepared for such a contagious virus and we're too entitled to our freedom that we blindly endanger others constantly. I don't see any company coming out of this well. Even Costco, they may be selling a lot now but our consumption doesn't really go up. We'll stock up now and not buy that same stuff for a while. The service industries will suffer, everything tourism, and they are usually the lower income people who will now not be able to spend money on anything else. That'll affect demand for the next thing, and so on and so forth.

I hope this will just blow by, but look just how many people got this and how fast it can spread without anyone knowing about it. If I get quarantined I'll just build 5 jet skis that are waiting to get done. I've got a critical infrastructure kind of a job, so that's secure, but also if anyone in my group gets Corona virus we could have a manning issue that doesn't give us many options for operating.

This is a real thing, please treat it with respect for the benefit of everyone else.

In time, this will be no worse than the last 6 viruses that they hyped up.

This is disaster capitalism at its finest, fueled on to new heights because it’s an election year.

I might be wrong but im pretty sure this is the first the first time almost every event across the globe has been canceled. Time will tell but the fact moto gp and f1 has been canceld says a lot

So, who, exactly, is better/properly prepared?

and we're too entitled to our freedom that we blindly endanger others constantly.

I’m perplexed as to what this could mean. Every great nation and philosophical revolution in history echos that freedom (not from consequences, mind you) is the _only_ thing we are all, in fact, entitled to. Absence of freedom is the abomination. Please explain.

I’m not blaming Trump or anyone else on this but it is a real thing that we should be taking seriously. The scale and speed of this on can’t be compared to SARS and Ebola as shown above.
I don’t believe Trump or the media as they are at the two extreme ends of reality. I trust our own CDC and WHO who are basically saying be reasonable and safe. If you are in the risk group then be smart and limit your exposure, it’s going to get worse before it gets better. If your average Joe American don’t panic, be mindful of family members that are compromised and if you get Corona you will be fine.

If you want a good reasonable and planned response look at Taiwan that learned their lesson with SARS and actually planned for this years ago.

I’m already looking at the positive and working on my RN.

The same CDC who turned down the WHO's testing kits and made faulty ones? And don't even get me started on the WHO coverups from its leaders. Glad you trust them. Thank you. Next.

I was in the hospital when we got our first offical case the other night. We have a board that is constantly updating with info on it as well as how to gear up for it. I havent had to work any of the negative pressure rooms we put these patients into yet, but once I have to you can bet I will have all my PPE on whether its needed or not. Masks are in super short supply for us at the hospital right now, I hid a box the other day, hopefully no one has found them yet. Yall stay safe!

The media is creating undue panic. People are fighting in stores over toilet paper for F--k sake!! Seems like a bit of election year sensationalism to me.

Here in the socialist state of NY, the governor has closed down bars and restaurants throughout the state, and is now talking about having all businesses close down for a while. who is going to pay for that!! How many small businesses will be crushed and not reopen. Cuomo doesn't care, he'd just assume take my money to give it to someone else anyway.

Unfortunate as this virus may be for some, there are too many humans on this planet and it's unsustainable. Nature has a way of bringing balance... let her work it out.

On a good note, at least in my area, gun sales are up!!! Seems the very people who don't think guns should be in the hands of private citizens are now worried about protecting themselves. Go figure!

I have been fully stocked for a long time: let the zombie apocalypse begin... LOL

Sorry for the rant... and if you see things differently, that's fine... this is just my opinion on the matter.

btw, thank you to all of the healthcare workers for their effort's... much respect to you all.

Public schools, private schools, and childcare are closed for three weeks here. Restaurants are closed province wide and are only able to do delivery and take out. Most of my suppliers in the residential construction have locked the doors and put a phone out front - Call in your order and pick it up at the loading dock. All non essitenial services are closed from dentist/chiro/RMT

It'll be interesting to see how much further it goes - Only upside right now is gas is $0.779 a liter but it doesn't do much good if we don't have to drive to work.

Suppose to fly out Friday to FL for a week but we are scrapping the trip.
