urgent-which way is up on a head gasket

i just got a new wiseco piston and gasket kit for a 96 superjet-which way is up on the gasket-the side with the raised metal edge around the cylinder or the side w the wiseco logos and the flush metal ring around the cylinder-it will fit either way

I think the raised part goes up
so when the head goes on as you tighten it down it flattens it out
and seals it :shhh:

holes in head gasket are bigger on one side and only line up one way to match stock head for flow of water...

i believe the smaller holes go toward the intake side

cool - got it thanks, i found out the stl ring in the gasket around the cyl hole is flush on one side and projected slightly on the other side and the projected side always goes up
