damn thats a lot of water. we are in that situation, the tva cant let any water out of our lake because of the lower rivers are already at flood stages. it is higher then ive ever seen it. the ramp we always launch from as of last saturday was almost gone, you can basically launch from the parking lot and we have had several more inches of rain since then.
Just west of here some places got over 10" of rain in 2-3 days, but what's weird is there was a distinct line where you went from like 1/2" of rain to over 4" and it was like right at the Ohio River. I'll have to go to Taylorsville Lake south of here if I want to ride anytime soon.
here is a lake cam right down the road from me.
you cant really tell unless you familiar with the area,
but to the upper left you can see a small strip on rocks.
thats the break wall that is usually 4'-6' out of the water
and that row of trees right behind the dock is where they rent
camp sites for rv's
here are a few i took when we went yesterday. ive never seen it this high.
as you can tell the ramp is completely under water. you can launch out of the parking lot.
and that dock ramp thats under water you can usually walk under it (im short)
and besides all the debris floating down i like the water this level.
the last pic is from about a month ago, look at the bank in the background compared to the other pics.
