I dont remember but seen somewhere selling titanium drive shafts for the SJ. Is anyone using them or know anything about them?

Sounds like a pretty cool effective mod as id think it should be around half the weight of an OE shaft.. less rotational mass...

Theyre only for the set back magnum pumps mate and arnt cheap.

Like waxhead said, being that close to the centre of rotation they will have an effect but it would be pretty minimal.

I'd spend that money elsewhere and get a bigger gain

So its prolly a no.

What about the billet aluminum couplers.. are they lighter than the OEM ones? Do u notice any difference with them?

Thanx Fellaz.

Negligible effect there as well. And I would say that billet couplers would be heavier than the cast aluminum OEM couplers.

the umi couplers are smaller in diameter and so there is a gain there
but not really much
you dont fit them to get a gain in throttle response
its about not having them blow up on your ski

The billit couplers are more precise, so if there is any effect it would probably be noticed as less vibration in the ski (if aligned properly). They may be a little lighter but not by much. It is mainly a strength and balance upgrade rather than a measurable performance one.

My buddy has a custom made one in his SJ. His Magnum pump is set back 4" in the hull and the intake hole area has been opened another 4" too. Its that AP designs Red/white SJ that Mauler sold to Butch and He sold it to my Buddy..

I think the titanium shaft was custom-made (as indicated in Superjet-113's post) so the motor would stay in the same spot.

I think.
