Throttle Barrel Clamp ,Cable Stop 38mm/44

Hi ,

I was wondering where can I get a throttle cable barrel stop, I have a throttle cable carburator side with open end no little barrel attached to it, but the carb has the normal SBN 44mm Throttle half circle with barrel gap at the end.

Any help appreciated.

thx

Chris

you could probably tale a metal dowel (brass? aluminum?) thats the same diameter as the stock barrel, drill it for the cable and drill and tap the end for a set screw. make it as long as you need it on one end to accomodate the screw's threads.

i am guessing you have a early, ( 85-older) 440, or 550 that had a 38mm carb originally, and you want to put on a later 44mm BN, or SBN carb?

you can either put in a cable from a later 550, OR there used to be a throttle lever available to go on teh newer carbs, and it has the proper fitting with a set screw to work on the old stlye cables. i may have some of these left here. 25.00 + s&h if i do.

hope this helps...

sorry, i should have said, "IF" you re going to switch cables, you need one from a 86 to 90 550. the later 50's had kehin carbs, and are different cables again.

John ,

You exactly hit the spot, but I wanted to avoid to switch the cable...so I have ordered some of these barrel clamps from ebay and if they work i will let you know...

Thank you for your help.
