Tether won't stop ski

I installed a brand new oem start stop assembly last season. Fell off my ski after a failed flip and pulled my tether off to try and kill it but it just idled away... I have to pull my tether off then press down on it to kill it now. What's up with it and how do I fix it?

Sounds like the switch is not seated correctly and the lanyard post isn't making proper contact. It should be fairly obvious if you take it apart.

I had that happen once, it was a long time ago, but I remember finding that the plastic pin which is pushed up by the tether would not move freely sometimes- would not go all the way down.
