SXR stock flame arrestor????

So I was out riding the other day and i heard a clunkin under my hood so i pulled up to the beach well more like rocks up here and found my whole flame aresstor assembly had fallen off of my carbs so and one of the bolts was actually broken so i tighten it back dow and continue to ride and my throttle sticks wide open so i pull my cord and i pull the throttle a few times and its not returning all the way till i pull it open one more time then it snaps back well i get to the rocks again pull my hood and the whole assembly has fallen off again and i cant find any of the bolts well we can all guess where those went so i pulled my carbs and luckly the reeds caught em but is this a common problem has anyone heard of this and i talked to a guy he figures i overtighted them and stretched the threads well i just put my intake manifold back on and am now worried maybe i did the same with that to its fine right now but im worried in time it may strip also

Should never happen if you use locktite. My stocker has never fallen off, thats why I went back to it. The aftermarket ones fall off and break all the time!

damn those reeds saved you alot of money sir! Red locktite em and they'll never come off.

sylicon? on theads works great to and comes apart without messing anything up

if i do decide to go to lock tight will i still be able to remove the bolts if needed or is it game over for them after that??

Yes, I usually use the medium or blue locktight when installing bolts that I may frequently remove. I have never had my stocker nor aftermarket intakes come off.
