SXR Rail Caps

Hi, Just registered here and i must say... great site!! Congrats to the owners for taking initiative to start a freeride/stand up site.

What i really wanted to ask... My OEM rail caps on the SXR are wasted and i already received the Blowsion composite ones to replace them. No offense to Blowsion but those rail caps look like sh*t. They don't have a nice finish at all. :sad:

Anyone else had this problem? Did you sand them and re-paint?

do they line up correctly? Mine were a HUGE pain in my butt to line up, on both skis. I had mine painted by them, but I was dissapointed in them cuz they dont line up well, I had to twist them to fit, and I have a nice gap in the back on one side. I've seen it on many, many, of their caps.

Wet box has a set and the finish is also crappy.

Check out Brian's SXR build... he had trouble with the Blowsion rail caps... had to paint them etc...

Haven't tried to put them on yet so don't know if they line up. The rail caps are going to be a winter job, as well as returfing...

I was thinking of sanding and repainting them already, but after your post i think i'll wait just a little with that... maybe i'll have to do some grinding too... Yep i'm dissapointed on this one too.

I've always been happy with blowsion so far, but they really need to redo these caps... they will have more unhappy customers with this one...

Yep, i'm afraid so... and finding the exact same white as the hull will be a PITA too i think. I already have a color difference between hull and hood...

Send em back. I didn't use any... Just did a little glassin over the holes, put some turf padding on the rails and turfed it..:woot:

Nope, i'm racing so no footholds...

I'll dig this thread up when i start installing... will post some pics.

i concur...garbage, putting stockers back on, or turf over them

True, if had to sand like crazy :-( . I eventually am pleased with the result, but what a job!! I also noticed that the pre-cut blowsion mats didn't fit that well... a lot of trimming on the side mats and the tray mat is to narrow.
