Superjet midshaft seal oem vs common Hyd shop seals

Alright- been searching without success

During the summer I was in a hurry to assemble my ski.

Needed two mid shaft seals, instead of wait for the oem double lip seals I used common seals from any hydraulic store (single lip). These seals fit tighter then my old double seals on the shaft and are a good snug fit. So far so good, they appear to being doing a good job.

Anyone see any reason to change them to the oem seals? Or keep
Running the hydraulic single lip seals?

Will try and post a pic or to shortly!

The tension on the lip seals you used may cut/wear a grove in the shaft where the lip rides if they fit snugger than new OEM

Also, on most standard seals, the retainer spring is standard steel, and will rust / break. OE have stainless springs, intended for marine use.
