I know Wamiltons makes a tall adapter that will allow you to run a stock flame arrester but they look so tall to me im not sure if they will clear my hood.. I have bent a rod (from subs) and very tired of the sputering/dieing/filling the engine with water after subs that today I came up with a way..

I took my stock base to the vise and grinder and opened up the hole to just slip in a stock exhaust hose (the one that holds the chamber to head pipe) the ribs work perfect on holding it from the back side and also for a hose clamp on the inside ! Im not sure if I will need to trim it down yet for air but Im going to try it just like this..

Here are some pictures.. Im sure they will explain more than I..

Creative RE Purchasing
I'll hand it to you. Looks like it will work just fine to me. Let us know how they work out in the long run.

Which hood? WDK? If so, I'm running the thrust innovations adapter thingy, and it fits fine on mine. But you just saved yourself over $150 in adapters, so there you go.:cheer:

I remember you sending me one of those rubber couplers right before going to pismo. haha

a just as easy fix is to get another f/a adapter and bolt it to the stock f/a and use that coupler

There are no bolts..

The bolt on flame arrester in the picture was only to use as a guide.. Black jacks. full spectrums, bower bombs, red tops, etc all have the top expoxied on with no bolts..

Sorry the more i read that post the less i know what you are saying..
