Steering cable!!!???

I cant figure out how it goes in to the hull. The part that goes in through the fire wall is held by a rubber piece as far as i remember... but how the hell do i secure it in the back where it exits to the turning nozzle. HELP !!!

With the rubber part just keeps water out of the tube.
There's a white plastic clip that secures the cable sleeve in place back there.

if my memory serves me correctly, this is how it is

forgot to add to the pic, that the white cap goes over the rubber boot, clip and washer.
