Blaster Starter Solenoid Jumper.

The ski was making a click from the starter solenoid when I'd attempt to start it. Battery is fully charged, I assumed it was the solenoid going bad as I've replaced this part too many times now on a couple skis.

Well a new solenoid didn't fix it, and even when I tried to jumper the wires there was no spark or anything happening.

So my question is, is this indicative of a bad starter or is there a bad connection going to the starter? I would've thought even with a bad starter it would still spark, but there is nothing attempting to draw power it seems.

Thanks guys, you're always a quick and great help for my problems.

Probably a bad starter, you can always pull the starter lead and see if the solenoid is actually flowing current to the starter, the cheapo redneck way to check it is to undo the starter lead, ground it and hit the start button to see if it arcs but I cannot personally recommend that test to you.

How did that test go? I have a similar problem. I only hear a click but it seems like there is no power to the starter or the starter is dead.

I actually had a similar problem today. Went to hit the start button and nothing. However I wasn't getting a click in the solenoid, jumped the solenoid and started right up. Ended up being a wire from the start button disconnected, although we thought we checked all the wiring there can still be that one you didn't see. Just sayin! Lol
