I picked up a new project today. I got a running 650SX and a SN SJ in need of alot of TLC. I still need to go through all the parts I have. I trip to Home Depot for some PVC stands and Goo Gone is on the to do list. I'm in the Houston, Texas area, so if any locals have any advice, let me know!

Are you rebuilding it back to stock or planning on modding it along the way?

I want to do a freestyle build. I plan to tear the tray and foam out, put in some footholds, do some reinforcing and sealing and maybe try to find an older WaveRaider (760?) to get and swap in electronics/motor.

I made a PVC stand. I took all the black trim off, got most of the turf and glue off, took the pole off, and took all the random crap out of the hull area.

How do I remove the steering cable?

undo the white plastic nut in the pump area. pull the black stopper and washer back, then remove the cable from the rear of the ski.

Also, when I undid the big nuts on the handle pole, I couldn't get the big bolt out? Is there a trick to remove the pole from the bracket? I just removed the entire bracket and pole assembly.

to remove the long bolt, hit it with a little PB blaster. let it soak, then turn the bolt while striking the threaded end with a hammer. make sure to put a nut on the end of the bolt so youre not striking the actual threads.

Mine was super stuck. I ended up having to take everything off the shaft and then pounding it with a hammer until I could pull it out from inside the hull.
