i put a x-metal pole on a square bracket as temp. solution before..just made up some spacers on a lathe..the only issue with the round pole on a square bracket i've seen is that the pole doesnt come up all the way cause it hits on the bottom

I ground the crap out of the square bracket and mocked up a RN on my square. Than my Goose made Aluminum bracket showed up in the mail and I stopped screwing with the stocker.

I remmeber seeing someone from FL doing it. Cracker or Flacarncycle I think..

I had one on my square nose with a round and square bracket. You just have to grind the end of the pole, so it will come up far enough. I just put 5 washers in there to take up the extra space. When you use the round bracket you can take the rubber strip off the bracket and grind the pole some so it will come up all the way. With either bracket you have to move the hood hooks to the outside of the bracket.

Ive never had issues with the SN bracket with the RN pole, I just used lots of stainless washers and the two bolts setup with lots of loctite. You need to ground a bit on the pole but ground the top of the bracket flat. I like it because the SN bracket is wider and provides better support. If had had the money Id probably switch to an aftermarket.

I use the square bracket without too much trouble, it took a lot of grinding to get the pole to move forward enough. I'm using a dual bolt setup, when I first did it I used aluminum spacers which wore so I had to heep tightening the bolts all the time, and eventually cracked the bottom part of the pole from pulling it apart. I welded it back together and have been usin stacked washers with better success.
