Speedwerx Dry Pipe Question

I am installing a speedwerx dry pipe on my 98 ported 701 SJ. It has a MSD enhancer, dual cooling, Jetnetics flywheel, 44 sbn Blackjacks, and an ADA head with 35cc domes. It has 175psi. Will I be ok with 93 octane fuel with the dry pipe?

Just dont ride at 6700 rpm for long periods of time. That specific pipe design along with your MSD curve is not low enough at this point for 100% safety.

junkman

nice weather=regret selin
ya I grenaded an almost similar motor running the speedwerx dpipe wide open too long. I think you need something that can retard the timing alot up top before going on wide open runs across the lake :) I think my speedwerx pipe hit WAYYY harder than my B IMO....

7600 rpm is a major NO NO with that setup.

The big question is you said "ported" so what is the exhaust duration and the squish clearance ?

6700 rpm is just a bad spot in the Speedwerx dry setup "no matter what the conditions" I can show it on a dynochart or dyno developed timing curve.

You want about 15 at 7500 rpm on a Yam superstock with the speedwerx dry going down to about 7 at 9000. Drop about 23 degrees down on a MSD total loss from initial setup.
