I have been fighting a bogging or lack of low end power. I have had problems since the beginning of the year. I built a new engine (62t/61x fully ported) with new electrical (epic cdi) and had issues. I changed pump and impeller, rebuilt my blackjack carbs and still had the problem. I thought it may have been a porting problem so I built another fully ported motor and the exact same bogg issue. I decided to try to change spark plugs, I went from a BR8ES (resistor) or a B8ES (non resistor), WOW, that fixed it!!!!! It has tons of pull now:splatt:

So I just wanted to let some of you know that are fighting a similar issue, try and change your plugs. I was looking at a Clymers manual for these Yamaha's and I saw that some used resistor plugs and some didn't. So it solved my problem.

Yep it depends on what type of spark plug cap you have, if you have resistor caps you don't need resistor plugs and vice versa, I chased down a misfiring problem for months on a Westcoast Dual total loss system just to find out I had the wrong type of spark plug caps on it, changed spark plug caps and it ran like new money.
