SNSJ handle pole questions

I'm wanting to get an aluminum light weight hand pole for my SquareNose. The thought of a feather weight pole with a blowson spring sounds great, I start laughing when I think about it. I'm wanting to get a shorter pole and was wondering what about length. I'm thinking -2 but isn't that the stock RN length? What about -4 for my SN? The more I think about it the less I feel I'm going to go back with stock and am going to a shorter length. I ride the surf alot and do a fair share of cruising. My stock pole I'm replacing is so worn out. When I cruise the ICW I can feel the hull rocking back and forth, but the pole remains still. I feel like Sanford and son when I ride my hoopty. (You big dummy! The surf is public property, LMAO)

aluminun doesnt make it light
its the spring that does that
for years a ran a ac pole w wamilton spring , the pole would float about 4 inches above the hood
before i switched to the ac pole my stock sn pole was wore as bad as yours is
i took the bushins out mixed up some marine tex and smeared it onto the bushings
quickly reinstalled everthing , once the marine tex cured - no more slop

I'll have to look more into using a stiff pole. Looks like I'm in the marketr for a -4 pole for the SquareNose if one is made. I wouldn't mind running a RN pole but don't want to eat up my budget on a conversion bracket.
