Super Jet Smoke coming out of pisser

Came across a stock 760xl, so technically a couch, but really the same as a stock SJ... I'm not getting water to come out the pisser; I am getting a good bit of smoke. I do have water coming out of the front cylinders when I pulled the hose that leads from the head to the front of the pipe. (Stock Pipe, Stock everything). No exhaust in the engine bay..

So my two questions is where is this water going between the pipe and the pisser? I could not see it leaking in the hull but it must? Where would the smoke be entering the cooling circuit, assuming the pipe?

Figured I would ask the experts* trying to get a few ideas rolling before pulling the motor. Crack in the water jacket perhaps?

blown head gasket

that's what I first thought but there is water flowing in the jackets around the cylinder and pumping out the front head nipple w/oair bubbles and no signs of dirty/oil water.

water is around the cylinders, once it enters the pipe its lost and replaced with smoke.

:pancake:

also a stock water routing diagram may answer my question. I've only seen piped ski's so the stock pipe/routing is tossing me for a loop.

There is a coupler under the black rubber boot, pull the clamps off the black rubber boot and slide it back over the pipe to expose the coupler, if the coupler is damaged it will pressurize that part of the pipe and you will get smoke instead of water out of the pisser.

I take it there is water supposed to be between the rubber boot and the outside of the exhaust?

I pulled the rubber boot back and even removed the 2 clamps that are on the orange cupler and spun the cupler around and it looks to be in good health. replaced it back and its still getting smoke out the pisser.

Anyone happen to have a cooling circuit diagram on how water flows into/out of the stock pipe?

Have a paper copy, but it does not show flow paths?
How does the water flow through the pipe? I have water leaving the head, going to the bottom front of the pipe.. then?

You know, I have been wrong once before. I am used to looking in the wb1 manual and figured they would be the same. Check that one out, pdf pg 57. I'd attach it but you will want to zoom in.

The routing is basically in at the bottom of the pipe, then through the manifold, up through the cylinder and out the top of the head on both ends. I don't have a 760 xl here to look at but I do have a 760gp. the water line at the back of the head goes back to the pipe, from there it travels between the two rubber couplers, the orange coupler keeps exhaust away from the water in the cooling jacket, the black coupler contains the water. There is a large hose for cooling water to exit in the middle of the pipe, some of course goes out the pipe at the end for cooling of the hoses downstream. The nipple at the front of the head on this boat hooks directly to a pisser.
