short steering mod??

Anyone ever try this short steering mod??? I am thinking about giving it a try but thought I would check to see if anyone has tried it??? Good, bad???

ive done it, worked good. i still prefer my x-metal plate.

Thanks. I am at -2 with the pole cut down and want to find out if I want to be further forward with out the investment.

I can't seem to open the link for whatever reason but this is what I have been running for a couple years. Works awesome for me and cost nothing (besides bars) -3.5"-4". It is the closest to the pivot (steering cable actually) that I could get (had to grind a little off of the right clamp) I rode with it a couple times before cutting the back of the plate off (so I could go back if I didn't like it) then just hit it with the sawzall after.

Too bad, I sold a stock turnplate just days before Daytona. It would have been perfect for you to cut up for a trial. I'll let you try my -2.5" X-metal setup if you wanted to try it on your ski for a weekend, or you could just try my ski out next time. Should be comparable power soon enough so it feels more like yours, everything else is pretty close on our setups except for footholds.

Let me know if you feel like doing footholds on my ski, maybe we can barter and I'll get you a new steering setup.

I've done that, and it works great. You might have to cut your chin pad a little for clearance.

i was just thinking that same thing. it looks like the chinpad would HAVE to be cut.

I had to cut mine. Not a big deal though. I just have a turfed stock chin pad.
