When blocking off the fuel pump on an sbn, what do you leave in? One of the last black diaphrams to act like a gasket? Also when I remove the fuel pump/fuel pump cover, I think i can see the built in restrictor in the carb. I will post a pic of that. I am just wondering if the stock restrictor will still be used, since I am taking the guts out of the fuel pump. I will post a pic of the restrictor location in a few minutes.

yes, the carb still needs a restrictor or else the fuel will just pass right through it and not make it to the metering section/jets.

I have always lapped the block off plate with 220 grit on a granite plate to make sure it's perfectly flat and just use the molded o-ring.
