RRP Pole - 08 Jet..

If i were to fit a rick roy pole to my 08 superjet, would this then help resolve the "quick steer" problem that the newer superjets have?

what with the new jets getting ever more popular im surprised nobody has come out with a design to stop this yet.

I could go for the 07 pole, cable etc, but by the time i buy the pole, have it resprayed, source the cable. im not too far off a rrp pole. So can anyone shed some light on this?

If i got the rrp pole, would i still need to switch to an 07 cable? or can i continue using the same?

I have the rrp setup....IMO go with the x metal handle pole and steering setup. The x metal comes with everything you need for about the price of just the rrp pole. Then you have to buy a bracket, spring perch, steering stop and some rogain to grow your hair back after you tear it out from trying to install it.

I love my x metal steering and I'm running an 04 superjet cable but you can use any cable up to 07. Turns on a dime.

Isn't the cable the main culprit of the numb steering ?
Even with a RRR or X-metal, you'd still need a cable. I do prefer the X-metal pole though.

its the cable and the pole that need to be changed. I wish yamaha would change it back to 07 style. It would save people a lot of money.

As far as x metal go to the links section they are in there. Also you could pm supertune or radney1. I know they have some pics on their site of their pole.

Also weight is another big issue. The rrp weighs a ton and wasn't really designed to use a spring. But you can buy a spring perch and run the stock spring its just a pain in the ass to run the breather hoses plus your pole won't lay flat until you break in the new hoses. For a while I couldn't get my handle pole to lay flat and it wouldn't stay up with out the help of a screwdriver jamed in the bracket. But now it seems to work fine most of the time.

The main reason I bought mine was because I wanted an adjustable pole...I don't what the deal is but mine doesn't want to adjust very easily as the x metal pole looks pretty simple to adjust.

If you are hell bent on an rrp talk to Brian at virgin waterworks. He has the best prices around and excellent customer service. Just make sure you get the correct bushing for the x metal steering plate if you decide to go that route.

I'll try to post some pics up if I can find them.

As far as the cable goes look up atlantic jetsports. Jim has great prices and quick shipping.

i wish they did also! cool im going to look around at the X metal stuff then. Seems pretty popular gear.

Shame we dont have a dealer or distributer over here! Stuff looks nice!

That about the RRP pole not sitting flat for a while is quite irritating. I only ride roughly twice a month, so it would take for ever to sort its self out!

any pics would be appreciative though!

cheers
