replacing engine mounts in 2008 Superjet

What kind of stuff were you doing in what kind of hull and how long did they last? I think the Yamasaki conversion mounts in my 550 hull are a different dimension than oem Superjet mounts which is what I’ve always run in the surf. I’m just wondering if I should preemptively order a backup set from Rhaas for surf trips.
I was doing what I always do and they lasted for one day and when they failed they all failed at once and caused catastrophic damage. No I would I take OEM mounts with you and/or preemptively change your mounts every year if you ride waves. Don't take my word for it ask around.

What is what you always do? Historically I’ve seen motor mounts fail when I or other people land large inverted airs with the boat upsidown or with the hull of the boat contacting the ocean floor on landing. I think side flops on barrel rolls seem especially hard on the mounts as well.

I didn't answer you because it doesn't matter at all. I know mounts pretty dang well after all these years. I know how long they should last and how they should fail....which is not crumble like wet bread and all at once.

I'm done. Buy them for sure! The fact that anyone is still showing interest in them tells me that not enough people have bought them yet....so buy them!

I used to run monkey grips mounts. Think the same set lasted me 6 or 7 years..only downside is more vibration...tried to run oem mounts on my new ski and I broke 3 at once in small waves..no upside down landings or hitting bottom, just a few side landings on reentries and I’m running engine keepers. That said I had a big bag of them so I put some more in. Will see how long these last.

Did those 3 crumble like wet bread or old playdough or did they rip a little but still get you back to the boat ramp with no further carnage?

@Big Kahuna has had some OEM early fails too.....I never ever have had them fail other than mildly and one side at a time and only after a lot of abuse.

Nope.. three ripped all the way the third held mostly together...probably rode like that for awhile until I felt it..

These were old ones..should have probably put fresh ones in but I had a bunch I wanted to use up..

Just wanted to interject something here since it has not been said yet, now this was copied and pasted directly off of his website, this is from the Superjet mount listing, notice it says nothing whatsoever about a warranty anymore.

These mounts are made from 6061 anodized aluminum for corrosion protection and a long life. The urethane is co-molded into the base and the threaded insert to provide a one piece, mechanical lock on all components. These mounts do not rely on glue to hold things together, the mount is molded at one time with the billet threaded insert and the billet aluminum base. These are made to the highest standards in our own manufacturing facility right here in the USA. There is 4 years of R&D that went into making these mounts.

Also available in shorter versions for special applications.
Motor mounts sold individually.

The warranty is still in the FAQ, 3 years from purchase.

"Do you have a warranty?

Yes, Rhaas motor mounts are all covered by our 3 year replacement warranty. If they break we will replace them. No questions asked.
We offer a limited 1 year warranty for commercial applications."

Im guessing I no longer have a lifetime warranty though? Pretty poopty considering that was the whole reason for me buying these over oem......
