red or white turf

I was wondering how the red turf would look on a sxr with the burgendy (sp?) or mahogany handpole\graphics. Ive heard the red fades but wondering if its that bad, i was thinking white too, but wondering about dirtiness of fresh water. and how soon it would look bad

The red turns pink in about 1 month...so go white.

is it a pain in the butt to deal with in fresh water? Should i buy a sheet of it or buy the kit. I was thinking marble but ive never seen it in a picture or anything
