If it comes with carbs and ignition it a good upgrade. But honestly, unless you weigh 150 lbs, you need to be looking for a SJ. Dont waste time installing footholds.

That was nice almost 20 years ago, then Superjet went to 701 engines and no one missed the old stuff. SJ is a lot heavier but you'd like it more. You can put lots of money into a 550 but you'll still have a $500 ski (maybe)

They do 52 stock in a Laserjet hull, in a 550 hull maybe 45 ish , quite a bit of weight difference there, also the engine is all top end, no bottom end grunt whatsoever, not what you want for running around and doing tricks, I know I own one, I pulled the engine and pump and sold them, grafted in a 650 pump tunnel and am installing a big pin 750.

A big thing to consider when doing these types of conversions is where can you get replacement parts? Even if you get a complete motor that runs good its only a matter of time before something breaks and if you can't gets parts your screwed. Better to stick with whats readily available.
