octane advice?

hi been offered a 2004 octane looks in good condition, pretty standard apart from footstraps just wondering if there was anything to specifically keep a look out for

sorry if this is been done before but i cant really find anything i am after on a search

I had an 02 Octane that I raced for a season. They had their fair share of problems the first year. I think they worked a good amount of bugs out of them by 04. Most of them are waterlogged in the rear.
Are you familiar with stand ups?
What do you plan to do with the ski?

The Octane can be a fun boat but ........
Most people will tell you a Superjet more fun.

i hope to free ride it wave jumping and rarely on the flat water, i must admit i am a bit torn, i have seen a superjet but its a bit more money and i think its had a hard life as its been modded up substantially, actually the octane has been up for sale for a while and i reckon i can get a good deal on it, oh i have ridden a few kwaks before but not been on a superjet, sorry i should add one thing i have been considering is the availabilty of aftermarket mods and replacement parts seem to be more available for the yam, unless anyone can point me to a supplier who would ship international

thanks
kie

With the Octane, everyone who sees you will say, "Hell yes, an Octane! I've never seen one!"

everyone's going to say superjet...but why not do something different. Where are you located that is overseas?

You should do just to be different. But get a superjet too so you can still go out and play. surf ready squarenosed superjets(pre96) can be had for less than 2grand or way less if you buy them at the right time.

well i must say i am pretty tempted, you guys have basically just agreed with what i had been thinking anyway!, i would love it as a surf boat

cheers guys

i here ya . the octane is a great ski tons of power . i raced this one 2 years did good made it to worlds . didnt make the main (my fault ) had a blast racing just dont have the time for a 2 day race like it is now. if they went back to a 1 day event i would not be selling it.

I have never rode one, but IMO they are sweet. Already set up with a b-pipe, sweet pole and steering, and some other stuff. A well thought out ski IMO. Most superjets are waterlogged too!
