SXR No spark

At surf slam and sxr just died no warning signs at all. Got back to beach emptied all the water and pulled plugs. Turned ski upside down and drained all water from motor. Tested for spark and nothing. Even checked in the dark....still spark. Any ideas? Appreciate any thoughts

Did you sink it??? You said you had water in the motor? .

FIRST check the fuse in the hole in ebox...then make sure all the plugs are still plugged in. Check the STOP switch plug...(black/white wires)...that could've been what first caused it to stall, if it just died with no warning....next, cut a 1/2 inch from your plug wires at the boots and try it. They could've burned up (common on Kawis)

If you sank it and now have no spark, it sounds like water in Ebox or Stator cover??? Start tearing out the ebox and dry and clean everything, then reassemble. If no water in ebox, look behind stator cover...

if the fuse is bad, the ski won't crank. Stator failure is more common, check the stator(pick-up coil) resistance at the E-box. wires are green and blue, resistance should be 800-1200 ohms. Then switch meter to AC volts and crank it, should produce at least 500 mV.

Ok guys just got home and took flywheel cover off..now water, took ebox apart and no water as well as everything still connected. I just built the entire ski before summer and had cut back plug wires and put on MSD plug boots, I checked for spark on both plug wires but nothing on either. I am going into start stop switch now and will clean all the contacts then check before cutting plug wires back again....do coils just go bad or pick up in stator just go bad with no warning? Thanks for help
