Super Jet newb from Africa

Hello everyone from the X
My name is Mical…I come from sunny South Africa. I’ve been on this site for a few weeks just poking my nose around, and I like what ive seen so decided it was time to introduce myself

I started out on a 1992 Yamaha super jet with 701 61x motor, Potec pipe
Rode it for awhile until my friend let me take his 2012 out for a spin

Wow is all I could say, First thing the following Monday I phoned my local Yamaha dealer and asked if they had any 2008-20012 in stock


Just my luck they had a 2009 with few mods done for R40000 which is about 4700$

this ski used to belong to SouthAfricas freestyle champ Brett Armstrong


since I bought it removed 90% of the decals, bought a few trick parts like a Coffman’s sizzler exhaust and the some other stuff from Atlanticjetsports.com

Such as

jet pilot flight race boots

Protec intake grate

odi grips

ally finger throttle

hour meter

blue fuel line

the prev owner did some whacked to the nose of the ski but its ok I call it my beluga whale

Welcome! It looks like they nailed/crushed the nose and rebuilt it without the lip to help surf moves.

Welcome. Looks like you are on your way. Everything looks good, except save your oem fuel line because the blue stuff is junk and will be hardened up and leaking soon.

yes this ski was used alot for backflipping in the surf

just need a new decals and few trick bits and ill be happy

he had a fs1 at one point but sold it. maybe he really enjoyed getting sprayed in the face... i dunno.

so what are your guys thoughts on the coffmans sizzler worth the money or not?

i know there is the rave about the famous B pipe but its so rare in this country and people want to sell you one at stupid prices

Have you spoken to Patrick at Racetech? He normally has b-pipes for about R4000 which is half the price of a new one once you have landed them here.

hello everyone again

thought id do a small update

fitted the coffmans pipe and im very impressed just one question how do i make it sizzle more do i restrict the inlet pipe at the bottom of the manifold?

PROK's are about R600 each, fv about the same I think. I tossed outers, didn't flow enough air

Adaptors x2 R470
Flow valve R420
Handle bars R595

So all quite cheap those prices include shipping and duties
So I don't mind waiting 7days to arrive
