Hi im new to the x
i have a 1989 550 kawasaki stand up
i got it a year and a half ago. i traded a lawn mower for it. the ski has already had an engine swap for 200 buck from some guy that my cousin knows, a new started, custom paint (i don't really like the paint so this winter im changin it), and for some reason a super jet air box. I ride at my cottage on long lake near hillman, michigan.

I'm trying to trade my wife's Durango for a modded out SJ...just don't tell her :sneaky:

SJ's turn like neither, they are very flat handling, meaning you turn more with steering input than body input/leaning. It just takes a little while to get used to it, like any other ski.

it was my dads friends jetski and the lawnmower i got for free so i basicly got the jetski for free
except for the engine swap and new starter

I would do anything in your power to make to fsf and ipperwash in a couple of weeks.

Buy an FX1, same good motor as a superjet and prob cheaper. It's like ridding your 550 all cracked out!!

i agree with LBE, get an fx-1. i have a fx-1 and a 550. i got the fx-1 because i was used to the small 550 but wanted more go. coming from a 550 everything else just seams too stable.

Welcome. I'm looking into FX-1s now myself. I almost bought one before I bought my first SJ. I still havne't ridden an FX-1, but I think I would really like.
