New guy here. Broke SN handlepole on first ride... options?

I'm new to the forum and to the SJ world. I bought a bucket of parts with a SN hull and built it from the ground up. The first day on the water (Wednesday), I tuned the carbs, it was running beautifully and then I proceeded to snap the handlepole on the first big air. I haven't spent much money on this project so far (<$1000) and I'd like to keep it that way so I'm looking for inexpensive solutions. I ride on a lake with a lot of river traffic so the water ranges from perfect glass to very large boat wake (I have a x-4 xp800 built for flight when I need to scare myself) and I would like a pole to be comfortable for carving around as well riding in rough water and the possibility of opening up to freestyle tricks as I progress.

The boat is a 90 SN with a ported 6m6 and Pro-Tec pipe and an unknown impeller. It runs surprisingly well, I expected the 6m6 to feel really sluggish compared to the 787 in my Seadoo or my friend's modded race 750 SXi but it really wasn't too bad. I think the 38 mph or whatever it runs like it stands feels fast enough for what I want it to do so I can't see myself putting much more into it beyond the pole.

I want to find a RN handlepole and just use my SN bracket and some spacers to mount it with. I have a pretty decent chin pad on my pole and I'd like to reuse as much of the hardware I have if possible but I don't know what can be swapped over. I understand the later RN poles were different than the early ones (pre vs. post 2008), but does that make a difference if I'm coming from a SN? Last question. I like the option to shorten the pole, is this easiest to do on the stock pole? and how much should I begin with removing?

Thanks for any insight you guys can give me and I'm really excited to get back on the water again.
