I am swapping hulls, and I need to get the midshaft out of one and into the other. How do I safely pry it off and what do I need to use to seal it up in the new hull?

Take the drive shaft out. Score the factory goop with a razor knife and use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry it away from the hull working your way around it. Its very simple, but I can understand why you would be concerned. If that doesn't work... get a sledge..

cool, do i need to apply any goop to reinstall it? silicon?

Yes. clear silicone will do the trick. don't be afraid to use a good amount. then use your finger to smooth it around the outside.

well after 45 minutes of prying I got it off.....but unfortunately once installed in my new hull the midshaft leaked a ton. I probably didn't use enough silicon...
