My sbt cable is going on 2 yeas of trouble free easy steering. The wsm one I put n my chan is nice also. Both got to my door for under 85 bucks.

Had a buddy put in a wsm cable at the brigantine jersey ride last September because that's all he could find to ride out the rest if the weekend. It broke this past Thursday. Didn't even last 10 months.
Biggest pile of crap ever. They are cheap. That's about the only positive I can say.
I've tried SBT. They will last about a year to two years.
Nothing beats oem for quality and longevity.
Also salt vs. fresh is a big difference. Looks like surf in the OP's profile pic. So I suggest oem. Best choice for salt.

My ski with a sbt cable is a dedicated surf hull. It only sees salt and then sits for months at a time. Our ocean is pretty salty on the west coast too.
Just giving another opinion on cables. I think the main thing is I that they are run correctly With no binding and hydroturf is placed in spots that they will rub hull or other things. ALOT of people run the, wrong or in binds and don't even know it or think they are doing it right.
