Necessary Mods for SXR

I have an 07 SXR all stock and I was planning on adding simple mods throughout the summer (ride plate, intake grate, etc).

But after riding a superjet today with almost everything modded, I realized I really need a wet pipe for low end power for jumping waves (i ride in lake michigan).

Basically I was wondering..if I was too add a wet pipe, WHAT OTHER MODS ARE NECESSARY or is a wet pipe by itself fine?

And I know half of you are gonna tell me just get a superjet =p

Oh yeah, I'm only 17 and it's my first standup so I really don't know much about tinkering with the engine and all that stuff.

after riding the SJ with a wet pipe, you shouldve realized that you need an SJ with a wet pipe.

i know you expected that..... but its only because its true.

If you don't want to spend a lot of cash:

Footholds
Aftermarket 4 or 0 degree bars
Mill the Head*
Lighten the Flywheel*
Bore the nozzle *
*Can all be done at Group K or LPW for really cheap
After that: Wetpipe

It will chew up Superjets with B pipes, even in the low end. (People with modded out superjets like to rip on SXRS) Usually they have only ridden stock ones.

Wait on the rideplate, intake grate. They make it handle like a race boat.

My brother added only a wet pipe to his SXR last summer. What a HUGE difference. I couldn't believe the power gains he got just from adding the pipe. It definitely creates a whole new beast. In my opinion it's worth every penny.

there is only one mod you need...

sell the sxr and get a SJ

he got a TLR freestyle port on it ( and you cant get TLR anymore )

well unless you send your cyl to wamiltons

just get whatever you can afford. Pipe and footholds will probably be a very good start.

You just have to realize what you rode will be different than what you will get on your ski. Maybe try to get together will someone with an sxr with minor mods and see what you think.

WETBOX can almost roll his ski stock and he jumps the big waves fine. All he has is an intake grate and footholds.

If you are on a budget I think the footholds might be a great first step and you can do everything yourself.
