Well it all started whit a visit to Craig's List when I had some cash burning a hole in my pocket. I found a 2000 rn with a few goodies on for sale for a reasonable price. The only draw back I knew of was it was not reinforced. So after a few rides I tare her apart to find a lot more work than I had bargained for. The first day I was out on the ski I noticed that I had a few little air bubbles coming up from the rail when I sunk the tray under water. I saw this and knew that I needed to give the ski a lot better once over to find anything else that may be wrong with it. Come to find out that there was a screw left out of the right foot hold to DRAIN water taken in from a bad glass job to the footholds. I should have taken more before pics but one night I got home from the lake and started looking over a few things and before I knew it I had a big plastic bin full of parts and a motor sitting in a pile and a bare hull next to it. So far I have a good list of have's for the ski for this build but I still have a list of have not, that I need to get from people on this bored or from various vendors.

The Have's
Rn Hull (needs Reinforcing and small repair)
XFT Hood
XFT pole + Pad
XFT Scupper
XFT Foot Holds
Good 701
B pipe
Stock 38's for now
44's for new motor
500 gph Bilge pump + switch and fittings

The Have Not
Tom 21's front foot hold with a Fire Ext holder
X Metal water box
X Metal Turn plate
X Metal Bars/ Throttle
Advent ignition
Custom rear side exhaust
Reinforce Front to back
Carbon Nose
Various small billet Pieces
XFT Trim.
R&D intake for 44's

Already in the works but waiting until my work season kicks off so I still have cash is a Team Scream 5 mil BB Stroker which should be ordered here around november but being as my motor still rips it will work until then.

Ok, So here goes on the start of the build So far I have stripped down the hull and doing a full reinforcement with 11 oz. Carb and no foam. I'm going to put drains in the hull for the void but Want to see how it holds up with the no foam route. I just ordered 10 Yds of Carbon today and a 2 gal kit of slow cure epoxy resin from Us Composites. From what I have been told I should only need 6-7 Yds. of Carbon but I in now way want to run out midway through this process.

Here are Some Pics from today with cutting up the tray and getting all the soaking wet foam out of there. There was a Half assed glass job on my XFT holds when I got the boat and on the tare down the glass was wet with water, not mixed correctly resin and just a shotty Job so I'm going to start from scratch.

A few things I have been thinking about with this build was Paint. I'm not sure if I want to or not but I was thinking about sanding all the gel-coat off before paint. I don't know if this is a bad Idea or should I just rough it up before I paint. Paint will not be too extravagant as I call my boat at home my Battle ski and it's a surf boat so it will b paint from a can. I have been thinking about colors and I think I'm leaning towards flat black with red vinyl like the TBM sxr as I think that ski looks sick but will never put money into a paint job for a boat that I'm going to lawn dart. Any ideas feel free to throw them at me. I'm doing a build and having to fix someone else's mistakes from there attempt at mods at the same time. Let the flaming begin. I need to search more on it but how are you doing the carb nose? I searched and people were taking a mold and going that route, can I just lay a piece on the top/bottom of the nose and call it good? What's the right way to do it?

I called a few other people for some other stuff but one person wont call back... :poke: So _____ call me brotha tell me whats going on and hook me up. I did a search, but what is up with this front scupper??? Can someone fill me in on "the new ish".

what happen to that other hull

sitting on my back deck, it got messed up in shipping to CA so after I get this build done I'll do some fiber glass work and try this 66e thing and see what that is about. If I build it I already have it sold to my roomate. So it is a win win for me

Well not much has been going on other than A LOT of sanding of the hull. took some pics and need to go back to home depot to get more sand paper to finish up the sanding the I can get the reinforceing done and shoot this this thing so I can get back on the water.

this is gonna be a surf boat? if so , is the trim and stroker necessary? im also curious why you arent gonna be refoaming it?
just get that thing done by next months pismo freeride.

Yes, this will be a surf boat, the trim and stroker arnt necessary, but for the days that I am at the lake with friends the stroker and trim will keep it more interesting. For now until november or january It wont have the trim or big motor just to get me on the water. I ham hoping to have it ready for the freeride if funds permitting I don't know right now due to slow work season for me. Going no foam is just something I want to try Bronson has done it now for a while with no problems among others and by just putting drains in the back I don't think there should be that much of a problem. I'm hoping to split gas money with someone to go to the free ride if there is anyone in my area.

lets see the pix of the REV damage?

forget the 66e....fix the REV damage and do a transplant...come on man!

Well I have been thinking of that but I don't know what I'm gonna do. I have been thinking of selling it but not sure. if someone wants to wave cash around it will get sold. Here are the pics, the damage is to the pump area and the port front side. It really sucks because it has never even been on the water yet.

I know all it would take me is two days to fix the glass returf and be good to go but I really like the plane jane standard round nose hull. this one is gonna be flat black with a little red.

no foam for a surf boat is not a good idea...

if it was, dont you think Blowsion, RIVA, JSU, EME etc etc etc would be selling boats this way?

foam doesnt add that much weight...if you are concerned with 2 part foam then use polystyrene, reinforce the piss out of the tray and call it good..

or, you could drop some $$ on a sweet new aftermarket hull ;)

that damage could be fixed in a couple hours...all you need is a 90' angle grinder and some epoxy with filler

I have some filler from us composites here, I may get bored tomorrow and just start working on it. I only have like an hours worth of work to do in Sherry before the composite work starts. I talked to a local guy that all he does is carbon and glass wrk. and blowsion I think I'm gonna let the pros do the reinforceing so I know it's done right. After I take the ski to the lake a few times and there are no leaks I will add foam but I hate wet foam.
